Purple haze

I close my eyes at night
But the sleep will not come
Only purple haze
Every night, every day
All day long
I am engulfed in purple haze
Hanging like mist in the background and foreground
Or loudly washing over me like tidal waves
Who am I to stop the ocean
When the moon calls her?
What bonds me to my purple
Haze that touches every part of me?
I cannot reach for clouds
That swell and shrink but never vanish
Sneaking in through every crack
And though my mind grows weary
Every cell in me has a soul
And they are all calling out for
Purple
