I met two strangers in Harlem
on a summers day
in the vivid street and on the train
because my heart was open
They tell their stories
if you dare to listen
and wear their heart on their sleeve
for the world to see
if anyone opens their eyes
Not hearing but listening
not seeing but looking
not passing by but being
You can choose to see a stranger
or a sister and a brother
see the worst in people
like rats scurrying in the gutters
or see the beautiful chaos
that is Humanity
