Incitement

Like an asteroid colliding into our lives

Knocking us out of circular paths

Shaking us vigorously 

Awoken

We open our eyes

Will we be pulled away into the abyss

Ripped apart by the inescapable force

of gravity, so much larger than we are?

Or will we find ourselves 

closer together than ever

As if for the first time

Seeing the world

Seeing ourselves

The realization that 

We must love ourselves 

If we truly want to love each other
